About the course
In this part of our project management program, you’ll get the key tools and learn to get better at leading meetings, resolve conflicts, and negotiating with various stakeholders in an international project setting whether in construction or related sectors.
In this way, the course will take you on a journey where you will learn how to be an even more effective project manager in a cross-cultural context. The course starts with a focus on how to run the most efficient meetings using international facilitation techniques for meetings. It all begins with planning and proper preparation: inviting the right people, understanding them, making purpose and outcomes clear and setting a solid agenda. During the meeting, you’ll need to lead it smoothly and make sure everyone participates and follow through on the decisions made on the meeting. Besides getting to know the key tools for leading international meeting, you’ll also train the tools using case situations. This also means you will practice and improve your presentation skills. skills.
You’ll also learn about typical situations where day-to-day negotiation is necessary in international project. You’ll become aware of various negotiation styles and get and train the tools necessary for conducting effective negotiations.
Finally, you will get and train important tools to manage day-to-day conflicts. You’ll be introduced to a system perspective of how conflicts arise, get to know personality conflict styles, and understand the process onhow conflicts evolve. Of course, you’ll also get and be invited to train key techniques to de-escalate conflicts.
Learning method
During the training, we blend theory with practical learning. In addition to traditional teaching, there will be case studies and practical exercises. You’ll be actively involved, so you can train your acquired skills right away. Hence, you should be prepared to participate actively and engage in reflections and skills training in smaller groups. Years of experience tells us, that this provides you with the very best learning experience.

This program is a personal development course for (a) Nordic project managers working for success on international projects and (b) for expatriate project managers working for success in Nordic countries. . Whether you’re a project manager on one or on several projects, a contract manager, client consultant, architect, engineer, or a specialist with designated project management tasks, this program will boost your internatonal project leaderships skills. In addition you have the opportunity to largen your professional network.

Part of the international project leadership education
This course on project management is the second module in the project leadership program. After the training, you will have a solid understanding of how to lead international meetings, and on a day-to-day basis how to negotiate and solve conflicts in international projects. After completing the training, you are able to understand and apply important tools when it comes to meetings, negotiation and conflict resolution. In total, by applying what you have a learned,you will personally have grown to success as a project manager.

We believe that learning is enhanced when there is a proper mix of presentations, trainings, dialogue and closeinteraction between instructors and participants. That’s why we limit each group to a maximum of 24 participants. This ensures instructors have time to provide you with individual attention, and you have more opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and engage in dialogues. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Entry requirements
If you wish to attend this course, it’s a requirement that you have also participated in International Project Leadership I since it gives you the personal tools needed like communication skills, team development skills etc.
